Health summit a stunt and spectacle

Heated partisan exchanges and in-depth policy discussions at the bipartisan health care summit on Thursday are unlikely to sway both parties in finding common ground, analysts said as the summit was going on.

Is the GOP 'fresh start' on health-care another stall tactic and on the other side of the aisle, what about the public option?

Democrats cautiously embrace Obama health plan

Congressional Democrats cautiously embraced President Barack Obama's new health care plan as their last hope for enacting a comprehensive overhaul.

Republicans trashed it, dimming prospects for any deal at the bipartisan health care summit that Obama has scheduled for Thursday to try to jump-start the debate.

DOh TOP GOPer Says Transparency Not Such Hot Idea After Al

After slamming the Obama administration for "secret deliberations" and going back on his campaign promise to televise the health care debate, House Leader John Boehner (R-OH) criticized the President yesterday for televising the bipartisan health care summit on Feb. 25, asking "is this a political event or is this going to be a real conversation?"
