Would you believe it if you could go to the store today and buy either an AMD Phenom II X6 or Core i7 and use it in the same motherboard? Cats sleeping with dogs? Believe it or not, that world used to exist in the Socket 7 days when you could run an AMD, Cyrix, Winchip or Intel CPU in the same board. That ended with the creation of the Pentium II.
