Sagging global growth requires Govt Stimulus

It looks as if the global economy is heading for a serious slowdown this year.

Emergency austerity programmes in some countries will put a drag on growth. Inventory adjustments will run their course. The effects of tax policies that steal demand from the future are wearing off.

The eternal stimulus Obamas temporary becomes permanent

Two organizations have caught the Obama administration playing with the federal budget numbers, specifically the "baseline." The White House is proposing to convert spending sold as a one-time economic boost into a permanent feature of future government growth.
