Nazi hunting How France first civilized the Internet

As European leaders make increasingly loud noises about "acceptable norms" in cyberspace and "civilizing" the 'Net, we look back at the opening salvo in that crusade: a French court's prosecution of Yahoo for displaying Nazi memorabilia on its auction site.

The case laid to rest the notion of the "global" Internet, impervious to national boundaries.
