A $33 billion war supplemental to fund ongoing operations in Iraq and Afghanistan is being held up by House Democrats who want to attach $10 billion for bankrupt states like New York and California that refuse to cut unsustainable education funding in these troubled economic times.

AlQaida thug sets peace conditions with US Obama reaction

Al-Qaida's American-born spokesman has repeated the terror group's conditions for peace with America, calling on President Barack Obama to withdraw his troops from Iraq and Afghanistan, end support for Israel, stop intervening in the affairs of Muslims and free Muslim prisoners.

Obama's reaction is still unknown. But hmm, might not sound bad to him

British security guard to face court in Iraq

A British security guard facing the death penalty for murder in Baghdad has been declared mentally fit for trial in a ruling that paves the way for him to face court in August.

Army Bills Soldier for Losing Gear After Getting Shot

He passed out after getting shot in the leg by a sniper and woke up in Germany with a Purple Heart.

But now the Army says he owes them for the gear he left behind in Iraq.

Alan Grayson (D-FL) introduced bipartisan legislation, 'War Is Making You Poor Act' to call attention to a) how much money is being spent to fight the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, and b) how budget gimmicks are used to pay for them. Grayson's legislation would slash the $159 billion request for supplemental war funds & give tax breaks

US May Face Steep Tab in Haiti Rebuilding

President Obama has offered Haiti the United States' 'full support' after the island nation suffered an epic earthquake.

What he did not mention is America's generosity may come with a hefty price tag to U.S. taxpayers as the deficit mushrooms from the cost of wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Obama's Iraq plans vindicated: US agrees to pull out by 2011

Iraq and the United States have finally agreed on a security pact which would mean that US forces would withdraw from Iraq by 2011, American and Iraqi officials said yesterday....The pact replaces the UN Security Council resolution enacted after the American invasion of 2003.
