Samsung official company not doing very well in tablets

An official at Samsung was unusually candid during a media roundtable at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, admitting the obvious but rarely-spoken truth that the company's attempts to replicate its smartphone success in the tablet market had failed. "Honestly, we're not doing very well in the tablet market," product strategy executive Hankil Yoon said, but added that Samsung expects to change that this year.......

Marvell intros multimode LTE and TDHSPA modems new CPU

Marvell helped kick off Mobile World Congress with a pair of important cellular chipsets and a new mobile processor to match. The PXA1802 is one of the first cellular chips that can talk both to a conventional 4G LTE base station as well as the TD-LTE used on China Mobile and some North American carriers, even up to LTE's peak 150Mbps speed. It can connect to TD-SCDMA for China Mobile smartphones, although Marvell told Electronista it could also be used for pure data on a hotspot or tablet.......

EFF Tells Supreme Court that No Means No in Wiretap Act

Yesterday, EFF and the Center for Constitutional Rights filed an amicus brief (PDF) in support of certiorari, asking the Supreme Court to enforce the plain text of the Wiretap Act and its absolute prohibition against the use of illegally intercepted communications.
